Worship

Worship is at the heart of our life together at Hope Lutheran, when we gather for prayer, praise, and songs to God. Please come to our services! We worship at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings. We alternate with a Traditional and Contemporary service each week. A nursery staffed by the parents is provided during service.

Worship leadership is shared by all the people of Hope Lutheran. Opportunities for involvement in our worship leadership include Acolyting, Greeting, Lectoring (reading the lessons), Ushering, Altar Guilding (behind the scenes preparation), lay assistant ministering and assisting with the distribution of Communion. Also, we have a variety of music programs that help enrich our worship experience. All are welcome to assist in our services!

Acolytes assist the Pastors at worship services by helping with the processionals, lighting and extinguishing candles, and receiving the offering from the ushers. Although service as an acolyte is open to all, the youth most often fill these roles. Contact is Lynn Sowders..

Altar Guild members duties include preparing the altar for worship each week and for special occasions. Contact is Cheryl Watkins.

Assisting Ministers are our Parish Lay Ministers who assist the pastor with worship. Contact is Jan Thompson.

Greeter Ministry The greeters meet us each Sunday at our worship entrance. They support our identity of being a welcoming Christ-centered family that reaches out to share the message of God's love. All ages are welcome to greet.

Lectors Read scripture at each of our worship services. Contact is Lynn Sowders.

Nursery Provides supervised childcare for infants and children on Sunday mornings.

Ushers The ushers play a crucial role in extending the hospitality of the congregation to Hope members, guests and first time visitors as well as assisting the congregation’s participation in the worship service. Ushers are active at our Sunday service and support extra services for Lent, Easter, Advent, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Eve and other services as may be required. Contact is Howard Askew.
