Welcome to Hope Lutheran Church! My ministry with the worshipping assembly at Hope is relatively new. I first came to Hope as a supply pastor in the fall of 2007. I have now been the pastor of Hope since January, 2008. It has been a true blessing to be a part of the ministry that Hope gives to the Springtown and Azle communities in Northeast Parker County.

Hope Lutheran Church is a member of the Northern Texas - Northern Louisiana Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. That means that we consider ourselves to be a part of the Reformation tradition begun by Martin Luther in the sixteenth century! As Lutherans we confess the Nicene, Apostles, and Athanasian Creeds. We believe in one baptism for the forgiveness of sins which calls us to be God's people in the world, preaching and teaching and administering the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We receive the promises of the Gospel primarily through the hearing of the Scriptures and the gift of the Sacraments in Baptism and Holy Communion.

At Hope we experience and proclaim the Gospel through traditional liturgical worship: gathering, hearing the Word in scripture and song, praying, sharing a meal, and being sent back out into the world to do God's work. However, we also believe that all worship is contemporary and we alternate our worship services weekly with organ accompaniment and praise band accompaniment.

We are blessed to have a thriving youth ministry led by Lynn Sowders. Adults and children meet weekly for Sunday School during the school year. This year we also have begun confirmation and first communion education for our younger members!
